Brandon Boston Jr. is heading to Hollywood.

With the 51st pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers have selected 19-year-old Brandon Boston Jr. The pick was initially owned by the Memphis Grizzlies but was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, who then shipped the pick over to the Clips right before the pick was announced.

Boston only spent one season in Lexington as a member of the Kentucky Wildcats, putting together a freshman year that saw him post averages of 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 25 appearances, 24 of them as a starter. The 6-foot-7 wing was tied for the team-high in points per game while leading Kentucky in total steals. Boston came out of high school as a five-star prospect, but he saw his draft stock dip quite a bit throughout his rough year with the ‘Cats.

That being said, there is a ton of upside for Boston that makes him a still-enticing prospect. Wing players that can score are incredibly valuable at the next level and he has the tools to make himself into a good professional player. If Boston can piece it all together, there is no reason to believe he can’t have a successful NBA career.

Best of luck to B.J.!
