The 105th PGA Championship wrapped up on Sunday evening at Oak Hill Country Club in Western New York. There was a familiar face holding the Wanamaker Trophy.

Brooks Koepka brought home his third PGA Championship (2018, 2019, 2023) and fifth major championship with an impressive 72-66-66-67 score to win the tournament at nine-under. The 33-year-old did just enough to hold off both Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler who finished the tournament at seven-under in a tie for second place.

Koepka never looked back on Sunday with three birdies in the first four holes as he was able to hold off Hovland in the final group. LIV Golf now has its first major championship winner. Koepka was again in the final group at a major championship, but this time the Florida State product closed the deal unlike last month at Augusta National when Jon Rahm ran away for his second major championship. The No. 44 ranked player in the world becomes just the third player since 1958 to win the PGA Championship at least three times joining Jack Nicklaus (five) and Tiger Woods (four).

Koepka moves into a tie at No. 15 overall with five major championships joining Seve Ballesteros and others. One more major title could allow the star golfer to tie Phil Mickelson, Nick Faldo, and Lee Trevino.

Over at KSR Golf, we did not have a great week but did cash a ticket in a head-to-head matchup of Brooks Koepka vs. Rory McIlroy. We will make our return next month when the U.S. Open goes west and takes over the Los Angeles Country Club.
