1) Just to get you interested in football recruiting, I took a look at the Class of 2011 to get a sense if Kentucky has peaked some interest in top recruits. What I found was pretty interesting. Here are the 5 and 4 star guys that have UK listed on their interested list (along with rank and home state):
BRAXTON MILLER (* * * * *): #1 QB, Ohio
BRANDON SHELL (* * * *): #5 OT, South Carolina
DAMIEN SWANN (* * * *): #5 S, Georgia
KIARO HOLTS (* * * *): #7 OT, Indiana
KRIS HARLEY (* * * *): #7 DT, Indiana
DEANTHONY ARNETT (* * * *): #8 WR, Michigan
JARRETT GRACE (* * * *): #10 OLB, Ohio
ANTONIO RICHARDSON (* * * *): #14 OT, Tennessee
DARRIEN MILLER (* * * *): #15 OT, (COMMITTED TO KENTUCKY)
Keep in mind that we are extremely early in the recruiting process, so expect UK to get in the homes of even more top ranked guys. But, I think this is certainly a good start for the Class of 2011. And let's start a movement to get Braxton Miller to UK, just as long as Tipton doesn't consider it a violation.
2) Andy Katz talks to John Calipari about how to become cool. Afterwards, Cal was overheard saying "I thought doing the podcast with Drew Franklin was bad, who the hell was that guy?"
3) Last week, the media held their annual "Mock Bracket" selection up in Indy, and Kentucky was seeded #1 in the East region, also known as the Syracuse Region. Lucky for us, Seth Davis then worked that bracket out, and had UK beating Ohio St in the regional final, but losing to Syracuse in the Final Four.
4) Quick vote: Which "We are the World" was better? I personally like the 1980's version alot better, mostly because I actually know most of the people in that one, and this one I have no clue who 75% of the people are. For instance, who is the little brat at the very beginning of the song?
