Coach Cal made the jump today in offering
2016 center Thon Maker, currently listed as ESPN's #1 prospect. There's been interest from Kentucky for a while now, but if there's such a thing as "Facebook Official" with the recruiting process, it's the scholarship offer.
The invitation was made recently, according to Evan Daniels:
Maker would obviously be a huge get for any program, and Cal wants to join the likes of, oh,
all the other elite programs in providing a roster spot. He could be the cornerstone of a class that could, if we're lucky, feature a Twin Towers of Thon and some fella named
Udoka Azubuike. No relation, unless Kelenna, Oklahoma native, spent more time in Udoka's native Nigeria than we know about. But still, at least our fan base would know how to pronounce the last name (It's a-zuh-BOO-key, right? Or are we all just guessing?).
Keep an eye on Thon, as Cal works to put together a 2016 class on par with his ridiculously successful classes in previous years.
