Calipari attends Dickie V's Gala
Coach Cal took a little bit of time out of his busy summer schedule to attend the Annual Dick Vitale Gala on Friday evening. A grand event every year, the Gala brought in over 2.8 million dollars for the V Foundation for cancer research this year. The nearly three-million dollar total for this year was a record high for the event, bringing the existing amount raised to 18 million dollars in total since the event began 11 years ago.
A charitable package for the UK-UCLA game in December at Rupp (tickets, flight accommodation, attending practice, etc.) went for a cool $13,000 at the event. The Gala seems to have been a smashing success in typical Dickie V fashion, as always. You’re awesome, baby!
