Canada constructed a star-studded roster for the 2022 edition of the GLOBL JAM, one featuring eight high-major college basketball players and multiple pros. Marcus Carr (Texas), Charles Bediako (Alabama), Ryan Nembhard (Gonzaga) and Leonard Miller (G League Ignite) were among the headliners, presenting a significant challenge to Baylor, who represented the United States last summer. Canada defeated the U.S. 69-67 in the first battle, followed by first-rounder Keyonte George willing the Bears to a 93-87 victory in the rematch with a 37-point individual effort.

Canada Basketball is gearing up for its 2023 run in the GLOBL JAM, again announcing a competitive group of 18 athletes set to compete in the U23 Men’s National Team training camp, taking place from July 1-9. From there, the world-class international basketball showcase will run from July 12-16 in Toronto, with Kentucky set to battle Canada, along with Germany and Team Africa, in the round-robin event.

What is the group Canada Basketball will choose from for its roster? Take a look:

  • Callum Baker (Fairleigh Dickinson, Flagler College, University of Toronto)
  • Enoch Boakye (Arizona State, Fresno State)
  • Joel Brown (Cal-Berkeley, Iona)
  • Jaden Campbell (Florida Southwestern JC, Samford)
  • Markus Harding (Eastern Florida, Markus Harding)
  • Thomas Kennedy (Windsor)
  • Elijah Mahi (West Valley)
  • Marko Maletic (Laramie County CC, Long Island University)
  • Liam McChesney (Utah State, Illinois State, High Point)
  • Armani Mighty (Boston College)
  • Nana Owusu-Anane (Brown)
  • Adam Paige (Alberta)

  • Aaron Rhooms (Ryerson, Toronto Metropolitan)
  • Jahmyl Telfort (Northeastern, Butler)
  • Kellen Tynes (Montana State, Maine)
  • Aiden Warnholtz (Carleton)

Thomas Kennedy and Addison Patterson both participated in the event last season, the former in the midst of a strong season with the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the CEBL — he’s averaging 9.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest — and the latter a former top-100 recruit out of high school. Enoch Boakye was also a former blue-chip high school prospect in his own right.

Five players on the training camp roster are U SPORTS products, with Kennedy joining University of Toronto’s Callum Baker, Alberta’s Adam Paige, TMU’s Aaron Rhooms and Carleton’s Aiden Warnholtz.

The training camp roster will ultimately be cut down to 12.

The U23 GLOBL JAM team will be coached by Nathaniel Mitchell, who was recently named an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks. He will be joined on the bench by assistant coaches Dave DeAveiro, Jamie McNeilly, Scott Morrison and Kalisha Keane.

What does the schedule look like for Kentucky in Toronto? The Wildcats will tip off against Germany at 1:30 p.m. ET on July 12, followed by Canada at 8 p.m. ET on July 13, then Team Africa at 1:30 p.m. ET on July 15. And then to close out the event, UK will participate in either the bronze-medal game at 1:30 p.m. ET or gold-medal game at 8 p.m. ET on July 16.
