Cats #1 In Attendance...Again

by:Patrick Barker05/12/10
rupp With official '09-'10 attendance figures being released today by the NCAA, Kentucky, once again, leads the land in average butts in the seats with 24,111 a game. It's the 14th out of the last 15 years UK has led in this statistic.  Of course, official capacity for Rupp is only 23,000, so fire hazards be damned, we're watching our Cats!  That number is also around 1600 more per game than it was during the previous season, go figure. Here's how the top five shook out: 1. Kentucky 24,111 (cap. 23,000) 2. Syracuse 22,152 (34,616) 3. Louisville 19,397 (18,865) 4. Tennessee 19,168 (21,000) 5. North Carolina 17,786 (21,750) For those of you scoring at home, Kentucky would have also led the NBA in attendance this season, averaging over 3300 more people per game than the first-place Chicago Bulls.  No, the irony is not lost on me.  Now, can you please tell me what's holding Terrence Jones back?
