Reed belted his NCAA leading 17th homerun of the season, a two run shot over the right field fence in the bottom of the sixth.  Storm Wilson would add a two run shot of his own in the bottom of the ninth, his second of the season. "We just didn't play very well tonight", head coach Gary Henderson said after the game.  "We didn't do anything well enough to win the game." After a home run by Rebel first-baseman Sikes Orvis, who is second in SEC home runs to A.J. Reed, to leadoff the second inning, the Rebels blew the game wide open in the third.  A ground-ball skipped under the glove of shortstop Matt Reida for a leadoff error and it only went downhill from there, as six out of ten Rebel batters scored in the inning to make it 7-0. "He (Reed) left some balls up and obviously, we gave them an extra out but we should have been able to get out of the inning much quicker than we did", Henderson said of the third inning.  "Late in the inning we left some balls up, they hit it in the gap.  They did a nice job fighting off some two strike pitches, our pitch total got up, made some mistakes and we paid for it." Wildcat started A.J. Reed was lifted after the third inning. Reed finished the night after just three innings, allowing seven runs (just two were earned) on eight hits, struck out three and walked one on 71 pitches.  "I left some balls up, they hit a couple of bloopers, and I didn't have my stuff today", Reed said of his shortest outing of the season. Outside of Reed's homer, Rebel starter Chirs Ellis (6-0, 1.81 ERA) kept the Cat's Bats off-balance all night as he worked seven inning, yielding two runs on five hits in his sixth win in eleven starts. The Cats will try to rebound in the second game of the series at 1pm tomorrow afternoon. UK ole miss 1
