The Cats will start freshman Logan Salow (2-3 5.40 ERA in one start and 22 appearances on the season.  He earned the win in the games against the Cards in Lexington, working three and two thirds shut out innings in relief of starter Ryne Combs, allowing five hits and striking out three. The Cards will start freshman Josh Rodgers (2-3 with a 3.91 ERA in eight starts and 13 appearances).  He earned the loss in both regular season games, allowing a combined eight runs in nine innings. Update (7:05): 8-8:30 is the new start time.  I am told that there is a "realistic chance" that we will (finally) start then. Game officials are confident that we will play tonight.  We shall see. Update (6:55): It's still raining here at Jim Patterson Stadium and we just has a lightning strike so the clock restarts.  Once the teams can get on the field, they will have 25 minutes to warm up.  Approaching 8pm as the earliest possible start time.  Game officials seemed determined to play it tonight. Update (5:30): Official word is that there is a storm expected to hit between 6 and 6:30. Earliest the game will start is "7-ish" as they game officials are going to "wait it out"   [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="541"] Storm over the Iroquois hills, just beyond Churchill Downs heading towards the stadium.[/caption]   Update (5:05): If there are no more lighting strikes, the teams will be allowed on the field at 5:15 followed by 25 minutes of warm-up.  Looking at about 5:45 start at the earliest.  ESPN guys said that the game may have been bumped off of ESPNU and does not know if they will cut to it if/when the game starts.   Update (4:30): Fans milling about outside the plaza as NCAA rules dictate that stadium must be cleared during weather delays. Update (4:15): A storm with lighting is within eight miles of the stadium.  The stadium has been cleared (per NCAA rules) and the game will not start until 30 min after the last lightning strike.
