Chris Stapleton on Kentucky's undefeated season, chances vs. Georgia

The buzz around Kentucky Football even made it to the country music red carpet. On Wednesday at the CMT Artist of the Year Awards, Kentucky native Chris Stapleton was asked about the Wildcats’ 6-0 start, and whether they have a shot at upsetting No. 1 Georgia tomorrow in Athens. Stapleton, who was born in Lexington and grew up in Johnson County, summed up a lot of Kentucky fans’ thoughts when discussing the surreality of the season thus far.
“I think anybody that grew up in Kentucky is trying to figure out what in the world is going on right now,” Stapleton told CMT Hot 20 Countdown host Cody Alan. “We’re wondering if it’s a sign of an apocalypse or something like that that UK has gotten good at football. Kudos to them for all the hard work. They’ve been knocking it out of the park. They’ve beat some hard teams and they’re a force this year. All bets are off, I think.”

I’ll be honest, I had to google Kane Brown. He is indeed a huge Georgia fan, to the point he was the celebrity guest picker on College Gameday in Week 1. Twitter had a lot of fun with his appearance.
In the battle of Chris Stapleton vs. Kane Brown, Stapleton DEFINITELY wins, so that means the Cats are gonna win too, right? We’ll keep the celebrations rolling all the way until Stapleton’s concert at Kroger Field in April.
