Everyone at Rupp Arena and watching from home knew Collin Chandler‘s dunk vs. Nicholls would make SportsCenter‘s Top 10 plays of the day; it shouldn’t be a surprise that it finished No. 1.

Chandler’s tomahawk jam took the top spot, which is probably still surreal for the sophomore from Farmington, Utah. After Kentucky’s 71-55 win, he told SEC Network+’s Noah Frary and Ravi Moss that if it happened, it would definitely be a first.

“Hopefully,” he said when asked about the possibility of making the Top 10 list. “I don’t think I — I don’t know if I’ve ever been on SportsCenter before, so that’s a cool feeling.”

It’s probably one of many cool feelings for Chandler this morning. Last night, he became a viral sensation, the clip of his dunk being shared by every major basketball account on social media, including the official NCAA March Madness account, Hoop Central (1.5 million followers on Twitter), Pardon My Take (1 million on Twitter), and Overtime (10.4 million on Instagram).

Rapper Lil Wayne didn’t share the clip, but he did tweet about Chandler’s dunk to his 32.7 million followers.

Soak it in, Chandler. Or, shall I say, Air Mormon.

Chandler’s teammates see this all the time

The reactions to Chandler’s dunk are almost as entertaining as the play itself. Denzel Aberdeen said they see Chandler throw down like that in practice all the time, but seeing it in Rupp Arena, with 20,000 fans going nuts, is something different altogether.

“Most definitely, all the time. He does all the time,” Aberdeen told reporters. “I’ve seen it a lot in practice, but in games it just looks crazier. It was definitely SportsCenter top one for sure.”

“When Collin had that dunk, I’m like, I’m gonna try to get a steal and go do the same thing, go dunk on somebody,” Mo Dioubate added. “It’s good energy, that’s what we talk about a lot.”

Chandler himself, ever humble, said that when the lane opened up and he saw the Nicholls’ Grant Sanders jumping with him, he couldn’t resist.

“It felt good,” Chandler told reporters of the dunk afterward. “I’ve gotten a few so far, but it’s my first time having somebody jump with me this time. It was good to have that opportunity, and having Rupp getting excited about it was fun, too.”

Kentucky fan who hit halfcourt shot was No. 7 on SC Top 10

Chandler wasn’t the only member of BBN who made the SC Top 10. The fan who hit the halfcourt shot for $10,000 was No. 7.
