Kentucky received a much-needed offensive spark in Week 3 when redshirt freshman Cutter Boley took over at quarterback. In October, we saw offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan and the rest of the coaching staff make a schematic tweak when they went pass-heavy and leaned into the quick throw game.

The Wildcats seem to have found something on offense. No. 8 is a major reason why. However, the play has been much better at home than on the road to this point. The sample size is small but Boley is shining at Kroger Field.

Boley’s completion percentage, passing yards per game, yards per attempt, rushing production, touchdowns, and interception numbers are both markedly different at home. The home production was boosted by the Eastern Michigan game, but the young quarterback did have very big performances against both Texas and Tennessee at home.

UK has put a lot on Boley’s plate. He is delivering.

We are still waiting on the first big road performance from the young quarterback, but the strong home game production could help Kentucky end a long home losing streak on Saturday night against a Florida pass defense that ranks ranks No. 106 in yards per dropback allowed.

It will be important for Kentucky to get the traditional ground game rolling consistently, but Cutter Boley’s play is giving this team a chance to win games each week. The program will need the starting quarterback to continue to play well at home while the big road game performance could be right around the corner.
