Davion Mintz asks, "Oscar to the rafters in Rupp?"

Davion Mintz isn’t waiting for tomorrow’s Wooden Award announcement to start having the conversation about Oscar Tshiebwe. Last night after Tshiebwe won the Naismith Award, only the second Naismith winner in the history of Kentucky Basketball, Mintz asked his Twitter followers, “Oscar to the rafters in Rupp?”
Tshiebwe still hadn’t tucked his Naismith Player of the Year trophy into bed before Mintz started the conversation online. “Let’s have this talk,” Mintz tweeted.
Kentucky’s only other Naismith winner, Anthony Davis, still needs his jersey retired before Tshiebwe’s banner is sewn and raised. Davis will certainly go to the rafters in due time, as will Tshiebwe.
Remember, Kentucky only retires the jerseys of UK Hall of Fame inductees and only after a five-year waiting period after their enshrinement. Davis was a 2018 inductee into the Hall of Fame, so his celebration may not be too far away.

Tshiebwe will have a place in the rafters, too… maybe as a two-time Player of the Year? Until he leaves, we can dream.
Brooks, Washington react to Tshiebwe’s Naismith Award
Joining Davion Mintz in the Twitter support of their teammate, Keion Brooks wrote, “I played with the best player in college basketball!!”
TyTy Washington reminisced on all of the times he and Tshiebwe fought for the same rebound.
