Devin Askew is already on the recruiting trail...

[caption id="attachment_269131" align="alignnone" width="828"] (Instagram: @babydev)[/caption] 2021 five-star guard Devin Askew hasn't even been a Kentucky Wildcat - at least publicly - for 24 hours, and he's already out on the recruiting trail. This morning, 2020 five-star forward and major Kentucky target Greg Brown congratulated Askew on his commitment to UK, adding "lights, camera, action when we walk through that door!!!" to his response on Twitter. https://twitter.com/gb3elite/status/1185205750588682240?s=20 Almost immediately afterward (seriously, look at the timestamps), Askew responded to Brown with two sets of eyeball emojis and a quick "my guy" caption. https://twitter.com/babydev5/status/1185205874735738880?s=20 The connection is fairly obvious. Askew, while currently committed as a 2021 prospect, is strongly considering a jump to the class of 2020, with most recruiting analysts predicting an eventual reclassification for the five-star guard. If he does decide to move up, he'll need some running-mates in the frontcourt, and Brown is one of the best available big men left on the board. Brown, a 6-foot-9, 195-pound forward out of Austin, TX is considered the No. 8 prospect in 2020 247Sports Composite Rankings and is down to a final five of Texas, Kentucky, Memphis, North Carolina, and Auburn. To take it a step further, 2020 No. 2 prospect Cade Cunningham went out of his way to congratulate Askew on his commitment to Kentucky last night, writing, "Congrats brodie!" on his Instagram page. As you may know, Cunningham is Brown's AAU teammate on the Texas Titans and close friend. The 6-foot-9 forward has been outspoken about wanting to play together with Cunningham in recent weeks, with the 6-foot-7 guard also returning that interest in various media sessions of his own. Kentucky is pushing Askew to reclassify to the class of 2020 and is hoping both Cunningham and Brown join him in Lexington. It may not mean much on the surface, but the more these three players talk in the coming weeks/months, the better. [mobile_ad]
