Devin Booker and the Suns are poised for a clean sweep in the NBA Finals

With Game 3 of the NBA Finals scheduled for later tonight, Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns are only two more victories away from winning it all.

Leading Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks 2-0, Phoenix heads to the Fiserv Forum up in Wisconsin as they look to sweep the former two-time MVP and his Bucks squad. Game 3 is scheduled to tip off at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC.

Throughout the entire postseason, the Suns have continued to look dominant, as the only series they didn’t lead after the first three games was against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Booker, in his first postseason appearance, is determined to take the Suns all the way, while breaking records en route to winning the Finals.

In his first Finals appearance, Booker quickly joined a company of other greats, which includes Dwyane Wade, Russell Westbrook, and Kobe Bryant. In his first two games, Booker is averaging 29 points, and six assists, while shooting 43 percent from the field and 40 percent from the 3-point line.

Along with his backcourt partner Chris Paul, who is right behind Booker averaging 27.5 points and 9 assists while shooting 54 percent from the field, the two have been one of the best backcourt duos in Finals history. CP3, who is also in his first Finals appearance, has been the stabilizing veteran that the Suns lacked in years before, as they have been in full control of the first two games, winning both at home by more than 10 points.

Chris Paul and Devin Booker (113 combined points this series so far) have surpassed Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson's record for most points by a starting backcourt through 2 games of an NBA Finals over the last 50 seasons.

Another early double-digit lead in Milwaukee could mean easy victory for Phoenix, as the Suns are undefeated this postseason when leading by double-digits with records similar to two teams that went on to win NBA Championship.

The Suns are 13-0 this postseason when leading by double-digits.

Seven other teams in the last 25 years went 12-0 in such games in a single postseason and all of them won the NBA title.

In their first two games, the Suns have shown they can beat you with or without the 3-point line, winning the first game off their deadly mid-range game and taking Game 2 by hitting 20 three-pointers and shooting 50 percent as a team.

The only obstacle left between Devin Booker and his first NBA Championship is a hobbled Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had hyperextended his knee just 12 days ago. The Larry O’Brien Trophy is within reach for the Suns.
