Did you know Rajon Rondo is the No. 1 flag football QB in the country? Now you do!

If you have blind faith believing everything you read on the internet, Rajon Rondo is the top-ranked flag football quarterback in the country going into the fall of 2025.
How? I’ve not personally found a single legitimate list of top QBs in the flag football world — or players, for that matter — but a few social media highlights featuring the former Kentucky basketball star tossing the pigskin around at a local park say so. And if they’re going to hype up a former Wildcat, I’m happy to follow along and beat that drum.
It started with over five minutes of footage posted by Frankie Vision on Instagram and X with the following caption: “He is the #1 ranked Flag Football QB in the country (right now)!!!”

Since then, the official USA Flag Football account has shared it, along with the likes of Polymarket, Courtside Buzz and Legion Hoops, among others.
Sounds good to me — especially at KSR, delivering news in the most ridiculous manner possible and where facts are optional. If a bunch of random accounts say Rajon freaking Rondo is the No. 1 quarterback in flag football, you don’t ask questions, you run with it.
Instead of questioning the legitimacy, we’re going to break down the film, because why not?
Rondo is slippery in the pocket and shakes off defenders before hitting the outstretched receiver on the fade, ball placement only where his guy could snag it. He had a pass-rushing terror coming his way, too, but the former Wildcat stepped into the pressure and converted on the deep ball.

How about this one? What a beauty, finding his receiver in stride for the long touchdown — bobbled on the catch, but brought down in the end zone. Again, how about Rondo’s ability to make plays under pressure? Those are the intangibles of a top-ranked quarterback, if you ask me.

He was lightning-quick on the court, so you can expect him to be just as fast on the field — his lost step is still blazing compared to the competition, wherever this league is. He sliced through defenders to avoid the tackle (flag-pull?) and earn the rushing score.

The five-time NBA All-Defense and former league steals leader is going to find a way to get his hands on the football. He went for the forced fumble in a sport that doesn’t do fumbles, because Rondo is a trendsetter.

Speaking of setting trends, how about throwing multiple underhand touchdowns? And not just weak little shovel passes like Patrick Mahomes — deep spirals with a simple flick of the wrist. That’s what it takes to become the top-ranked flag football quarterback in America.

None of this should surprise you. Rondo was a superstar quarterback for the Hikes Point Lobos in Louisville as a kid, then went on to defeat future Hall of Fame QB Drew Brees in a throwing contest in 2017. He once said while he has “respect for what (NFL) players do,” he “could have played, could have given it a shot” in the league.
As you may recall, USA Flag Football quarterback Darrell Doucette recently threw a temper tantrum about NFL players potentially taking his and his teammates’ spots in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games when flag football is officially introduced. That’s the same guy who said “I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game.”
Sounds like he should be more worried about Rajon Rondo taking his spot, not Mahomes.
