Don't Miss the Marshall County Hoop Fest This Weekend

by:Dustin Rumbaugh12/01/09
The Marshall County Hoop Fest (a place that holds a special spot in the hearts of a few of my KSR forefathers) will be taking place this weekend in Benton, KY. This year the Hoop Fest is bringing in two of the top 3 programs in the nation, according to a recent PrepNation.com poll. Findlay Prep (#1) and Oak Hill Academy (#3) will both be playing in Marshall County this weekend. For Kentucky fans, the Hoop Fest will  once again provide one the best opportunities to see major UK targets up close and personal, without having to leave the state. Here's who you need to be watching and when you can catch them (All times are in CENTRAL STANDARD TIME): Doron Lamb (2010) Oak Hill Academy December 5th 8:00 pm (Saturday Night) vs. Jackson Calloway MS Nick Johnson (2011) & Winston Shepard (2012) Findlay Prep As a side note here, I'd like to throw in that you may want to also take a look at Cory Joseph, who runs the point for Findlay Prep. He's a kid that UK showed a bit of interest in earlier this year. December 4th 10:00 pm (Friday Night) vs Christ School NC December 5th 9:30 pm (Saturday Night) vs New American NY Couple of other notes on the Hoop Fest:

- Lexington Catholic, home of Kentucky's best prospect in the 2012 class Jaylen Beckham, will be playing Saturday at 1:30pm

- Holmes High School, defending state champs and currently ranked #16 in the national poll, will be playing Saturday at 6:30pm, just before the Oak Hill and Findlay Prep games. You could show up a little early and show your support for Kentucky's defending Sweet 16 champs.

- If you need directions to Marshall County High School, plug your address into Google Maps and 416 High School Road Benton, KY. 42025 into the destination address.
