Former Kentucky DB Elijah Reed will enter transfer portal again
We are still three weeks away from the only transfer portal window of the offseason opening. No official moves can be made until that window gets here, but that is not stopping players from making their intentions known. A former Kentucky player will be looking for a new college football home.
Louisville (Ky.) Pleasure Ridge Park product Elijah Reed will become a college football free agent for the second time in his career next month.
The former three-star recruit signed with Kentucky in the 2022 high school cycle. Elijah Reed spent two seasons with the program in Lexington and appeared in 12 games as a redshirt freshman in 2023. The cornerback decided to leave the program after that season and landed at Akron to play for head coach Joe Moorhead. Reed started six games as a redshirt sophomore in 2024 when he recorded 32 tackles, four pass breakups, and one interception. Those numbers improved as a redshirt junior in 2025 when Reed logged 47 tackles, four pass breakups, and two interceptions in 580 defensive snaps.
