A racehorse at Ellis Park in Henderson County escaped the track and took a stroll down US-41 on Saturday.

Park officials told Eyewitness News out of Evansville, IN that the horse bucked its rider and left the track before finding its way onto the highway. The owner ultimately managed to rescue the horse at the Evansville Water Department.

The footage is something you simply have to see to believe.

Ellis Park officials later confirmed with Eyewitness News that the racehorse is doing “okay” and suffered only minor cuts and scrapes during the escape. The horse managed to make it several miles on the highway before finding the water treatment plant.

No big deal, just a couple-mile jog on the highway. No animals were seriously harmed in the making of this escape.
