Eric "Quiggie Smalls" Quigley loses on Nintendo 64

It was a tough afternoon for #BBN as Eric Quigley fell short in his quest to become Kentucky's first ever men's singles NCAA champion. Southern Cal's Steve Johnson won 6-4, 6-4 to claim his second consecutive NCAA title in his 72nd consecutive victory. Quigley fought hard early on but there is a reason why Johnson is one of the best the college game has ever seen. It's because he wears a lot of tape and is very, very unlikable. The loss stings for fans of Kentucky tennis, but there is a lot to be said about the fun we had on KSR while following the match. Not only did over 1,000 people join the live blog to attempt to follow our play-by-play, but at least that many people tuned in to the worst live feed in the history of athletics. I've seen live streams of soccer games in Rwanda that had a clearer picture than the 64-bit feed the NCAA provided for its championship game. Thanks for nothing. Quigley finishes his career at Kentucky as only the third player to reach the finals and arguably the best Wildcat to ever swing a racket. He has a bright future in the sport and this wasn't the last Eric Quigley live blog we'll ever do on KSR. Today, we all became lifelong fans of Quiggie Smalls. He let his tape rock until his tape popped.
