Fame hasn't changed Benny Snell, but it's making him late to class

Benny Snell has become a sensation all across the Big Blue Nation. The junior running back has been a fixture on the Kentucky football team over the last three seasons, rushing for more than 1,000 yards in each campaign, but this year his fame has taken on a life of its own.  If you turn on the SEC Network or College Football Live, you'll probably see Snell's face.  The attention has not changed the way he approaches the game of football. "We're winning games.  Now people are starting to notice a little bit, but I don't pay attention to it.  I'm focused on Kentucky," he said after Tuesday's practice. "It's all happening so fast.  Still to this day, where I'm at today, I don't pay attention to it.  I get a lot of 'good jobs' and 'wow, you made it.'  No, I haven't made it.  There's still more games to win.  I'm not even at the full potential I wanna be.  I still wanna be something greater than what I am now." He's still the same player, but his life in Lexington has changed dramatically.  Last week he had an odd encounter at a Waffle House.  Now he can hardly get around campus. "I'll be in-between class and people will want pictures.  When I take one picture, more people come, so then I'll almost be late." Snell enjoys the limelight, but sometimes he just wants to get groceries in peace. "I wanna just go out and go to Kroger or something, do normal stuff.  Now people wanna see me.  It's alright.  It's new, but it's all love.  It's all good." https://youtu.be/J78rDsByW_g?t=1m39s [mobile_ad]
