Famous sports psychologist Bob Rotella talked to the team today

Hey, let's talk basketball for a minute. John Calipari just wrapped up his weekly press conference and there's one note I wanted to pass along before starting my full recap. Renowned sports psychologist Bob Rotella is on campus today to talk to the team and already has an interesting theory as to why some players, like Isaiah Briscoe, are struggling at the free throw line. "Bob Rotella, who's here today, said your teams, historically, play so hard they get to the foul line. It's hard to slow down. It's hard, the way we play. So, don't be surprised by it. I said, 'You're right, it takes them a while to figure that out.'" Rotella was actually with Calipari in Amherst for the banner raising last night and Cal invited him to come back to Lexington on his private plane and spend the day with the team (must be nice, right?). He'll fly out this afternoon after meeting privately with some players (cough, Skal, cough) and the group collectively. It's a good thing Rotella's here, because Calipari said he's a little worried about his group because they're "more connected" than any team he's coached. "You can't come out and look defeated because it hurts all of us," Cal said. "They're all tied to one another. We've seen them all, we've all seen them. Like the second half against Arizona State, there are a couple other games that they really came together and played well. We've just gotta try to build towards that." "The will, the drive, the inner strength, the mental toughness that is lacking in most young teams is lacking in this team to this point," Cal said. "I like my team and I like the talent. We have great kids, they're trying, but they're really connected more than any team I've ever had."
