Jeff Goodman and KSR work together now. How crazy is that? The man who once loathed Matt Jones, John Calipari and Big Blue Nation with the feeling very much mutual is now part of the On3 network with The Field of 68 joining the party — and we’re all the way for it. Funny what a coaching change can do to bring everyone to their senses with Mark Pope being the ultimate voice of reason. Now, we can all sit around a table and laugh about it.

That’s what Tuesday’s episode of Kentucky Sports Radio was for, Goodman and Dauster joining Ryan Lemond and me to talk about the Wildcats before heading to practice to watch the team and talk to Pope and the gang on their show this afternoon. What is it like being welcomed back to Lexington and into the basketball facilities? Is Kentucky a serious title contender? What’s the deal with all of this Louisville love — especially with Pat Kelsey inexplicably calling the school Point Guard U?

We go through the UK roster and talk depth, shooting and hidden gems to keep an eye on. Oh, and the drama. Lots and lots of drama between Goodman and Coach Cal dating back to the Memphis days, explaining why things got so toxic over the years. We even got a behind-the-scenes look at Pope interviewing for the Arizona job in 2021 before the Wildcats hired Tommy Lloyd — setting up the path for the good Wildcats to bring the captain of the ’96 title team back home.

The show starts there:

Then KSR gets into the weeds with roster personnel and title talk after:

It was the appetizer before the entree with The Field of 68 going live from the Joe Craft Center here shortly — 3:30 PM ET, to be exact. From there, some dessert with Goodman and Dauster both joining Sources Say tonight after practice to share everything they saw and heard to wrap up their trip to Lexington.

Welcome to the family, guys.
