Some of Alabama's football players have chosen to come back to campus a few days before voluntary workouts for the SEC can begin. Unfortunately,
according to 247Sports,
five members of the Crimson Tide have tested positive for COVID-19. The names of those five players have not been disclosed.
The SEC announced last month that it will allow teams to begin voluntary offseason workouts on June 8th.
In the SEC's proposal to bringing back players to campus, they did have procedures for players who have tested positive.
Student-athletes must be screened before arriving on campus within 72 hours of entering facilities and on a daily basis upon resumption of athletics activities. Players who test positive must be immediately isolated and the school will begin contact-tracing and following CDC and local health guidelines.
Earlier in the week, a few other schools such as Marshall and Oklahoma State had players test positive.
In this case, though, it will be interesting to see what follows after college football's flagship program returned some positive cases.
