For The Team: Kentucky FB recaps win over Youngstown State

Jack PIlgrimby:Jack Pilgrim09/22/22

You either win or you learn. Kentucky football happened to do both in a 31-0 blowout victory over Youngstown State this weekend.

It wasn’t the prettiest performance from start to finish — Mark Stoops and the coaching staff made that abundantly clear after the game and throughout the week — but it was still a five-score win and the program’s first shutout since 2009. It was also a day to remember in other regards, as Stoops was honored before the game for becoming the program’s all-time winningest coach. The school also celebrated Military Appreciation Day, with a helicopter flyover and field-sized flag being presented during the national anthem.

Before we officially move past the victory over the Penguins and focus on game four vs. Northern Illinois this weekend, the Kentucky video team put together an in-depth recap of the win and gameday as a whole.
