[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="810"] WYMT[/caption] Former Belfry and Kentucky football star David Jones was shot early this morning outside of Red Jacket, West Virginia.  The Mingo County Sheriff's department said Jones is expected to live after he was shot in the abdomen. In high school Jones won back-to-back state championships at Belfry and earned First Team All-State honors prior to a successful career at the University of Kentucky.  A member of the All-SEC Freshman team in 2005, Jones' biggest play at UK helped turn the tide in the 2009 Liberty Bowl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06FIfrVVlJU After his career at UK, Jones signed with Baltimore Ravens.  He played in a few different professional football leagues before returning home to coach football in Eastern Kentucky.  Last year he was named head coach at Phelps High School. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jones and his family.  Head to LEX18 News for more information.
