The Wildcats have been on a recruiting roll, particularly on the defensive side of the football. Kentucky has already locked in 21 commitments in the 2024 recruiting class. The coaching staff is using the remaining vacancies to seek out athletes and fortify the Big Blue Wall.

Vince Marrow has been in his bag during the 2024 cycle. It could be his best year of recruiting yet at Kentucky, and he’s not done yet.

Marc Nave is a 6-foot-4, 320-pound interior offensive lineman from Toledo Central Catholic, Marrow’s old stomping grounds. A three-star talent, he’s the No. 25 player in the state of Ohio according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

Nave was committed to Ohio State for most of the 2023 calendar year. That all changed on Sept. 30, the same day Kentucky shellacked Florida. He reopened his recruitment and now he’s ready to take a closer look at Kentucky. Nave will officially visit Kentucky this weekend for the Missouri game.

The Big Blue Wall was built on the backs of players from Kentucky and Ohio. Luke Fortner, George Asafo-Adjei and Darian Kinnard all called the Buckeye State home before starring for the Wildcats. Marc Nave might be the next to carry on that tradition.

Kentucky vs. South Carolina on the Recruiting Trail

Kentucky was one of five finalists for four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon when he announced his commitment to Auburn. He’s had a change of heart. Solomon recently reopened his recruitment.

Will the Cats kick the tires on the wide receiver/defensive back? Likely, but this one seems to be an uphill battle. South Carolina has recruited the Georgia athlete relentlessly and Gamecock insiders believe Shane Beamer’s program has the advantage in his recruitment. Florida State has always been a heavy hitter in this recruitment too.

South Carolina has emerged as a contender for a Kentucky commit. Georgia athlete Quaysheed Scott pledged his allegiance to the Wildcats on July 4. This week he reported an offer from South Carolina, who was always seen as Kentucky’s biggest competition in the recruitment. This offer could move the needle enough for Scott to make a move. Stay tuned.
