Former UK CB Kelvin Joseph arrested, charged with DWI in fatal motorcycle crash

Former Kentucky defensive back Kelvin Joseph Jr. has been arrested following a fatal crash that killed a motorcyclist on Saturday, the 2021 second-round NFL Draft pick charged with DWI and collision involving personal injury or death, according to the Richardson Police Department in Texas.
Officers responded to the wreck just before 5 a.m. CT, then received a call from Joseph himself shortly after, the 25-year-old telling authorities he had been involved in a crash with a motorcycle on U.S. Highway 75.
It was then determined Joseph showed signs of intoxication.

“The female motorcycle driver, identified as 27-year old Cody Morris of Plano, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other vehicles or people located at the crash scene,” the Richardson Police Department announced. “… While speaking with Joseph, officers observed signs of intoxication. Joseph was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor B) and Collision Involving Personal Injury or Death (2nd Degree Felony).”
Joseph was drafted by the Cowboys with the 44th pick in 2021 and spent two seasons in Dallas. From there, he played for Miami and Seattle in 2023, then Kansas City, Indianapolis and Minnesota in 2024 before signing with the DC Defenders of the UFL in 2025.
