Former Wildcat Josh Allen Added to COVID-19 Reserve List

Josh Allen’s difficult year in Jacksonville isn’t getting any easier. The Jaguars’ star pass rusher tested positive for COVID-19 and has been placed on the reserve list, Ian Rapoport reports.
Unfortunately, Allen is not the only former Wildcat sidelined by COVID-19. The Houston Texans’ Lonnie Johnson Jr. was added to the COVID-19 reserve list yesterday.
The former Kentucky Wildcat’s third year in the NFL has been overshadowed by his controversial ex-coach. Urban Meyer was seemingly in the news once a week for something stupid. Finally, the team was able to move on from the distraction after the umpteenth report of his disrespectful antics.

Despite the franchise’s deficiencies, Josh Allen was having one of his best season’s as a professional. A year after he spent most of the season on the sideline with injuries, Allen played in all 14 games, recording a career-high 60 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He picked off the Bills’ Josh Allen, almost single-handedly carrying Jacksonville to a shocking upset of Buffalo.
Now 2-12, the Jaguars are on track to get the No. 1 overall pick for the second consecutive season. I guess it’s not all bad news for Allen and his downtrodden franchise this holiday season.
