The Wildcats are spending this Saturday at home on the couch. Kentucky had a bye week to gear up for a grueling SEC gauntlet, and it starts with a road trip to South Carolina.

The Wildcats and Gamecocks will kick off under the lights at Williams-Brice Stadium. The SEC announced South Carolina will host Kentucky at 7:45 PM ET on the SEC Network .

Kentucky will try to snap an 8-game SEC losing streak in Columbia. The Wildcats have not won an SEC game since they upset a Top 10 Ole Miss team last fall in Oxford. Kentucky has not won at South Carolina since 2021, when Chris Rodriguez rushed for 144 yards and Kavosiey Smoke punched in a touchdown in the 16-10 victory.

Mark Stoops once dominated this series, winning seven of eight, including five straight from 2014-18. Shane Beamer has tilted the series back in the Gamecock’s favor with three consecutive victories.

South Carolina opened SEC play with a 31-7 loss at home to Vanderbilt. The Commodores rattled off 24 unanswered points after LaNorris Sellers left the game with an injury. The Gamecock’s star quarterback suffered a head injury and his status for this week’s matchup is uncertain.

South Carolina travels to No. 23 Missouri this Saturday for a 7 PM ET game on ESPN. Kentucky has at least two more night games set in stone this fall, with the possibility of more to be added to that list.

The Last Trip To South Carolina

When I say it was a trip to hell, I mean it in the most sincere manner possible. The ground was literally on fire as KSR traveled through the mountains and wildfires spread through the region. We got into a wreck in those said mountains. We were able to complete our quest to South Carolina, but the car was ultimately totaled. Oh, and I got a speeding ticket on the way back home. Let’s not do that again.
