The raw numbers Will Stein put up at Oregon were enough to excite Big Blue Nation, a fanbase starved not only for wins but for an exciting brand of football in Lexington. Kentucky fans cannot wait to see what that will look like at Kroger Field, but what exactly should we expect? To answer that question, we’ve brought in an Oregon Duck who is a big fan of Stein’s work in Eugene.

Geoff Schwartz was an All-Pac-10 offensive tackle for the Oregon Ducks in the mid-00s. Selected in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft, he went on to have an 8-year professional career, with stops in Carolina, Minnesota, Kansas City, and the New York Giants.

Like many former players, after his playing career, he took the media route. Usually, those guys focus on the primetime playmakers. Schwartz has given his voice to propping up outstanding offensive line play, and also his Oregon Ducks.

As a member of the FOX Sports team, there probably isn’t a bigger fan of Oregon in the national landscape than Schwartz. That’s why he’s the perfect person to break down exactly what Stein is bringing to Big Blue Nation. It’s not just the GAS tempo and passes downfield. Expect toughness in the trenches from Stein’s Kentucky Wildcats.

The biggest difference you’ll see from Stein’s offense? One that plays with a Purpose. Schwartz describes Stein as a malleable play-caller who is willing to mold his scheme to his players in order to achieve a common goal. He shared much more in a candid conversation with Kentucky Sports Radio.
