Georgia Amoore receives even MORE weekly awards after historic week for Kentucky WBB

Georgia Amoore is building a terrific case for her second straight All-American season.
Not only was Amoore named the Naismith Trophy’s Player of the Week on Monday, but she was also recognized as one of 10 finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award. It turns out she wasn’t done hauling in the hardware though. On Tuesday, Amoore was named the SEC Player of the Week and the USBWA National Player of the Week.
And for good reason, too. The 5-foot-6 floor general was excellent last week for Kentucky women’s basketball, which picked up a pair of ranked wins. Notably, her 43-point performance on the road against Oklahoma tied the school record for scoring in a single game. With eight assists, she became the first player ever in program history to record that many points and assists in the same game.
Did I mention she was one of 50 players named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award (National Player of the Year) Midseason Watch List and the NCAA March Madness Player of the Week, as well? Sorry, it’s hard to keep track…

Here are the final stat lines for Amoore from Kentucky’s last two games.

After a somewhat “slow” start to her fifth and final college season, the Virginia Tech transfer has turned her game up multiple notches since SEC play began. Kentucky is 19-2 on the season with an 8-1 mark in league play. Across those nine conference games, Amoore has averaged 23 points, 7.9 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 37.3 minutes per outing. She’s shooting 46.8 percent from the field, 38 percent from deep, and 82.1 percent from the line during that stretch.
During the win over Alabama, Amoore dished out her 800th career assist. She’s now the only active player in college basketball — men or women — with at least 2,000 career points and 800 career assists.
