Go Inside Kentucky Football Fall Camp with Willie Rodriguez

Is this the year Kentucky finally throws the football to the tight ends? I would be foolish to answer that question affirmatively, but I can show you clips of a Kentucky tight end making a lot of catches at Fall Camp.
It did not take long for BBN to realize that Willie Rodriguez has a special combination of athleticism and physicality. On his first snap in a UK uniform, the Northern Kentucky native was the first player to touch a football during the 2024 season, returning a pooch kick for 20 yards.
He appeared in all 12 games during his true freshman season and earned three starting assignments. He caught a 25-yard pass at Ole Miss, but didn’t really hit his stride until the end of the season. It was clear he had established a connection with Cutter Boley. Rodriguez caught four passes from the true freshman quarterback, including three for 53 yards at Texas.
With uncertainty in the wide receiver room, Rodriguez has an opportunity to become a vital pass-catcher for the Kentucky offense. Throughout fall camp, he’s reeled in plenty of highlight-worthy grabs, including one in front of BBN at Fan Day. He had a few more when he was mic’d up at Fall Camp.

At 6-foot-4, 252 pounds, Rodriguez looks like a top-notch SEC tight end. If fall camp highlights are any indication, we’ll see many more of these on Saturdays this fall.
