The University of Kentucky men’s golf team kicked off their spring season in strong fashion, finishing second out of 15 teams at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate.

Leading the way for the Cats was senior stud Stephen Powers, who finished third individually for the tournament, shooting 75-69-69 over the three day event. Also registering strong performances for the Cats was junior David Snyder (T14, 71-71-76), senior Ben Stow (T25, 73-78-70) and junior Will Bishop (T25, 74-72-75).

The overall team winner was Auburn, who shot a team 6-under for the event. The Cats followed them at even par and Memphis was third at 1-over. The Cats get back in action next weekend at the Quarencia Cabo Collegiate.

Get your popcorn ready.
