Kentucky is all set to have a monster official visit weekend as the Wildcats will welcome 10 recruits in the class of 2023 to campus. The Wildcats are starting to build some momentum as the program is in on some legit blue-chip prospects.

Top-250 recruits Karmello English (No. 130), Robert Stafford (No. 157), Shamar Porter (No. 191), and Avery Stuart (No. 220) will all be in Lexington next weekend. However, there is another prospect that the coaching staff is making a serious run at.

Grant Godfrey is the No. 194 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett senior is a top-20 prospect in the Peach State that Kentucky is building a relationship with.

Godfrey spoke with On3’s Jeremy Johnson and confirmed three schools are sticking out the most in his recruitment right now: Kentucky, Tennessee, and Wake Forest.

“I’m looking for a place that feels like home and the coaches build a relationship with me,” Godfrey told On3. “Tennessee is one of my favorite schools right now. Those are basically my top schools. Tennessee, Kentucky and Wake Forest are the top schools fighting for me right now. I feel like it will be a great weekend.”

Godfrey has no official visits scheduled but Tennessee is a prominent player in this recruitment. Josh Heupel’s program is looking to add to a 2023 recruiting class that already has commitments from four top-250 prospects highlighted by five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

Grant Godfrey has informed KSR that the four-star prospect will be making the trip north to Lexington to visit Kentucky on Saturday during a huge recruiting weekend for the football program. Another battle between the Cats and the Vols could be taking place in Georgia for this blue-chip prospect.
