HALFTIME: Georgia Leads Kentucky 21-7

It looked like things might get ugly at Sanford Stadium. Three big plays gave Kentucky a chance to keep it close against Georgia.
Kendrick Law took a screen pass 38 yards to put Kentucky in scoring territory. Two snaps later, Josh Kattus got wide open on a play-action pass and ran 29 yards for a touchdown that made the game 14-7.

Kentucky built on that momentum with a big play from the defense. Jordan Lovett picked off a pass near the end zone to give the Cats a chance to tie the game. The offense did not fire. The Wildcats went three-and-out on consecutive possessions, allowing Georgia to extend the lead to 21-7.
Georgia gave the Cats a break by kicking the ball out of bounds. Despite an overturned call on a Willie Rodriguez reception, Kentucky got it inside the 10-yard line, but there were only 8 seconds on the clock. The Wildcats wasted about 20 seconds early in the drive and a timeout when they didn’t get lined up correctly, forcing the Cats to kick a field goal. Jacob Kauwe had been automatic all year, and he pulled the chip shot left, giving the Cats no points. Sigh.
Kentucky gets the ball first to start the second half.
