There is no better example of Kentucky’s dominance to open this one than Kam Williams drilling a banked-in three at the buzzer to push the Wildcats’ lead to 30 points after 20 minutes.

It’s been that kind of night for the blue and white, who now lead Loyola (Md.) 50-20 in a game that just hasn’t been close at all. Mark Pope’s squad came out of the gates red-hot and kept it up the rest of the way, shooting 56.8 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from three while holding the Greyhounds to 27.6 percent overall and 25.0 percent from deep.

Individually, Collin Chandler leads all scorers with 11 points on 4-8 shooting and 3-4 from three, followed by Otega Oweh with nine on 4-7 shooting and 1-3 from three with four rebounds and two assists. Williams is now up to seven points on 3-6 shooting and 1-3 from three with five rebounds and three assists while Jasper Johnson has added six points on 2-3 from three, Andrija Jelavic with five and Malachi Moreno, Denzel Aberdeen and Brandon Garrison with four.

Jordan Stiemke (six points) and Jacob Theodosiou (six points) are the only players with multiple buckets for the opposition.

Kentucky ended the half on a 20-2 run while Loyola turned it over eight times in the last 8:54 while making just one of its last 12 shots. The Wildcats also have just two turnovers, but 20 points off turnovers going the other direction. Factor in a 24-4 scoring advantage in the paint and 14 assists compared to three, it’s just been a flat-out dominant effort here at Rupp Arena — and they needed it coming off that Michigan State game.

Well done, Cats. Keep it up.
