The second round of the Kentucky high school football playoffs is upon us. As the number of teams begins to dwindle down, the level of competition is rising up. The Week 13 Kroger KSR Game of the Week features a notable class 3A matchup between No. 22 Hart County (11-0) and Glasgow (9-2).

The two teams met later in the regular season, where Hart County edged out Glasgow 22-19 on enemy turf. The last time the pair met in the playoffs was in 2021, when the Scotties claimed a 42-13 win to advance in postseason play. Hart County beat Webster County 43-8 in round one while Glasgow took down McLean County 62-38.

You can bet these teams are coming into Friday night with their own agendas; Hart County wants to keep their undefeated streak and will seek revenge for the last playoff meeting. Glasgow aims to advance and negate the loss to the Raiders from the regular season. Let’s break down some stats and see how these two will matchup tonight.

Hart County Raiders

Sophomore Jacob Shoulders is the quarterback for the Raiders. On the season, he’s posted 720 yards passing and 10 touchdown completions over 61 tosses. If you think this seems low for this point in the season, it is, only because the Raiders offense is generated on the ground.

Hart County has two players with 900+ rushing yards and four that have broken 500 this season, all of whom are seniors. Clark Rexroat is the leading rusher for the Raiders, totaling 991 yards and six touchdowns. Hunter Monroe follows with 952 yards and eight rushing touchdowns. It’s likely the pair will break 1,000 rushing yards on the season later tonight.

Joshua Dan Crump has tallied 587 yards along with 11 touchdowns, while Jordan Bradley closely follows with 581 yards and five scores on the season. If Hart County opts for a pass play, it’ll go to Jaxon Shoulders or Kohnner Trent. They combine for 589 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.

Defensively, the Raiders have three players with 100+ tackles. Senior linebacker Jaxon Shoulders leads with 129 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and one sack. Senior linebacker AD Milby follows with 120 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and a sack on the season. Brenan Griffin, a junior linebacker for the Raiders, totals 118 tackles and six tackles for loss. The Raiders will be efficient on both sides of the ball tonight.

Glasgow Scotties

The Scotties’ offense is led by junior Easton Jessie. He’s totaled 2,012 yards passing and 19 touchdowns with a 65% completion rate. He also happens to be the Scotties leading rusher, with 477 yards and six touchdowns across 100 rush attempts.

Sophomore Cameron Bulle follows with 445 yards and five touchdowns total. Mason Arms is another go-to for Glasgow, totaling 310 yards and 10 touchdowns over 11 games.

The Scotties’ go-to receiver is Rico Crowder, who is committed to Kentucky as a preferred walk-on. The senior has recorded 742 yards receiving and nine touchdown receptions this season. He’s followed by sophomore Jerrick Martin, who’s tallied 366 yards and two touchdowns. Lucas Christian is another receiver Jessie will connect with. The senior has posted 296 yards and three receiving touchdowns on the season.

Mason Arms plays on both sides of the ball for the Scotties and is a key player offensively and defensively. As a linebacker, the senior totals 76 tackles and five defensive sacks on the year. Senior linebacker Jacob Brunson follows with 46 tackles while senior DL Cam Johnson has tallied 37 tackles with four defensive sacks.

The game kicks off at 7:00 P.M. CT in Hart County with the winner moving onto the Class 3A quarterfinals.

Playoffs. Week Two. Let’s go.
