Tonight, the quarterfinals of the Kentucky high school football playoffs will take place across the state. Only three teams from KSR’s top 25 rankings have been eliminated from postseason contention up to this point. This week’s matchups will feature plenty of ranked showdowns with only three more wins separating six teams from winning some hardware.

But no game will be bigger under the lights than what’s going down in Danville this evening. For the first time in the history of KSR’s rankings — regular season or postseason — the top two teams in the state will face off against each other. The No. 2 Corbin Redhounds are on the road to take on the No. 1 Boyle County Rebels in the Kroger KSR Game of the Week. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST.

We’ve been hyping up this matchup all week for good reason. These two teams hold a combined 23-0 record in 2023 and even met in last season’s Class 4A state championship at Kroger Field, which saw Boyle County steal a 32-26 win. Revenge will be on the mind of the Redhounds, which will be powered by a pair of four-star Kentucky commits on defense, Jacob and Jerod Smith.

LIVESTREAM FEED

KSR’s Brady Byrdwell will be roaming the sidelines to provide live coverage, so make sure you’re following him on X/Twitter for updates. If you can’t make the trip to Danville though and are interested in seeing a state championship-caliber matchup in the third round, we’ve got a livestream just for you thanks to Team 1 Sports.
