How to watch/listen to Kentucky take on Maryland, Morgan State (because what in the world is FloSports?)
Hello, are you trying to find what channel Kentucky women’s basketball is on for its next two games against No. 7 Maryland and Morgan State? They’re not ESPN, the SEC Network, the Big Ten Network or even one of those “plus” channels. Instead, the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout will be on some random third-party streaming service called FloSports.
Now, if you’re like me and 99% of college basketball fans, you’ve never heard of FloSports. The worst part is that you can’t find it on your DIRECTV, DISH Network or YouTube TV. This is one of those weird events that’ll be “on the computer”, as Matt Jones would say.
So, I’m going to do my best to walk us all through this process so that we can watch and/or listen to the Cats this Feast Week.
Just so you know, you may have to bust out the ol’ debit card to watch Kentucky play — but don’t worry — if you’re cheap like me or just can’t afford to pay for another streaming service, I’ll propose some free options for you as well. Let’s dive in.
The simple, straightforward but not free way ($20)
If you want to watch Kentucky play, they’ll be on FloSports on Wednesday and Friday. In order to actually watch these games, you’ll have to sign up and make an account, pick a payment plan and then finally be able to go on your merry way.
If you go to UK’s official website and go to the Maryland and Morgan State games, they have little “WATCH” links you can click on to go to each game’s respective stream. I’ll also drop those links below for your convenience:
After you sign up and make an account, you’ll then be directed to the screen shown below where you have to pick between two plans — but wait. If you look at the $8.99/mo plan on the left, you’ll notice that it says “GET 6 MONTHS FREE”. DO NOT PICK THIS PLAN. PICK THE $19.99/mo PLAN. Stay with me here.

If you do the “GET 6 MONTHS FREE” plan, your first six months are not actually free. Instead, it’s just 50% off for the cost of a full year. You’ll be charged $107.88 when you complete the whole sign up process to watch the stream. That’s a ridiculous number for two ball games. Allow me to give you the less ridiculous option.
Instead, pick the $19.99/mo plan. At least then, you can just cancel your subscription after Kentucky’s two games. I know, spending $20 to watch two games isn’t ideal, but it’s better than paying $107.88, right?

Now, onto the more cost-friendly options.
This isn’t certain to work, but I’d give it a shot (FREE)
During the Google vs. Disney dispute when we couldn’t get ESPN channels on YouTube TV, a popular option for folks was to go on YouTube to see if they could find a stream of the game. A lot of the time, it was a successful effort. But not all the time.
Firstly, there’s decent chance there may not be streams of the two games on YouTube, and if there are, there’s also a chance those streams either get taken down mid-game or they’re super low quality and borderline unwatchable.
I would just enter “kentucky vs maryland women’s basketball” and “kentucky vs morgan state women’s basketball” into the search bar and see what comes up. It’s definitely worth a shot.
Certain to work, but you’ll only be able to listen, not watch (FREE)
If all else fails or just doesn’t work out for you, I’d recommend listening to Darren Headrick’s call of the games (Maryland: 98.5 ICONS and 790 WKRD, Morgan State: 630 WLAP and 790 WKRD) and follow along with KSR’s LIVE BLOG. I’ll make a concerted effort to make sure that these LIVE BLOGs in particular are more detailed and descriptive than normal so you can get a feel for what’s going on.
Additionally, the official Kentucky women’s basketball X/Twitter account will post highlights throughout each game as well. So, there’s another option for you. With this game being on a third-party streaming service, the team can only post so much from the actual games, but something is better than nothing, right?
I hope this article was just a little bit helpful, and if you have any further questions, reach out to me on Twitter (@PStevensKSR) through either my replies or DM’s and I’ll try my best to get back to you and help you out.
I miss when watching TV wasn’t so complicated, and I’m sure you do too. Regardless, Go Cats.
