ICYMI: KSR College and Janee Thompson Had A Great Weekend

by: Kristen Geil12/04/12
Hey everyone! How was your Monday? I spent the majority of my morning researching unicorn lairs, and I'm not upset about it. In less mythical news, the KSR College crew was busy this weekend with basketball, football press conferences, and traveling to Louisville to take on the Yum! Center. Here's what you missed:   -Well, he's finally arrived. Mark Stoops stepped on to UK's campus for the first time this Sunday, and I think it's safe to say that BBN collectively welcomed him with open arms. Nick Roush and Caroline Hall was there to fearlessly take pictures and Instagram them for your viewing pleasure, paired with some notes on the new coach's conference. As Caroline texted me later, "The only reason it wasn't a full out party was there weren't any booze. I've never experienced anything like it." Not too shabby. Click here and here for posts. -Mark Stoops said all the right things at his first press conference as UK's coach- but what can we take away from his quotes? Brooks Holton reads between the lines in "What to Take Away From Stoops' First Press Conference." -The UK women had one of the most exciting basketball games in recent memory in a come-from-behind victory at Louisville. If you were on the live blog, you were treated to lots of Conway Twitty and zoo pictures too (not sorry about that). Hayley Minogue and Wilder were on hand for coverage, and they've done a great job following this exciting team so far. Keep up with them for the latest UK Hoops news. -After two losses this week, it must have been a little more difficult for JC Ausmus to decide her weekly KSRCollege Jorts Award, but she prevailed. -The Cats are on the rebound prowl against Samford tomorrow night. Here's what you need to know about the Bulldogs.  Scott Padgett gets a shoutout, as does Bulldogs star Tim Williams who says "My most prized possession is my brain." Same here, Tim. -Monday's men's basketball news is brought to you by the North Korean unicorn lair. -And finally, Havana Childers continues to update us on UK athletic events for the upcoming week. HIghlights include UK volleyball in the Sweet 16 and two chances for the men's team to rebound.   @KristenGeilKSR
