Javeon Campbell, a high school junior out of Western Hills in Frankfort, KY, is already listed at 6-foot-5, 260 pounds. Once college coaches discovered that there was some skill to go with that size on the defensive line, his recruitment quickly blew up.

In just the last couple of months, Campbell has picked up offers from the likes of Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Auburn, LSU, and many more. Kentucky elected to get involved in early February when Vince Marrow reached out with a scholarship. Now, Campbell has locked in an official visit to Lexington.

According to Jacob Polacheck of KSR+, Campbell has scheduled an official visit with Kentucky set for June 7-9. The in-state product also has OVs with Ohio State (May 31-June 2) and Georgia (June 21-23). He’s already been to UK once before for an unofficial visit and has said previously he would like to take another in early April.

I’ll be there on April 4,” Campbell told KSR+ earlier this month. “I’ve been talking to Vince Marrow, the defensive line coach, and all of them. They text me and we catch up. They ask me how my day is going and I ask them. Coach [Brad] White, the defensive coordinator, as well.”

A commitment decision is tentatively planned for the summer after he finishes taking all of his official visits. The competition will surely be stiff.

With Campbell’s offer from Georgia, it actually came while on an unofficial visit to Athens earlier this month. He was “in shock” when that moment happened, but it shouldn’t be a surprise at this stage — Campbell is going to be a highly sought-after high school prospect until the day he walks on a college campus.

Kentucky will have multiple opportunities to make its pitch over the coming months.
