In-state 3-star EDGE Oryend Fisher will announce college decision today

One of the Bluegrass State’s top high school seniors will make his college decision later today.
On Wednesday night, Oryend Fisher announced on social media that a commitment is coming sometime on Thursday. No time has been specified. Fisher is a ’23 three-star EDGE prospect out of Georgetown’s Great Crossing, and Kentucky is one of the schools he’s considering. Clocking in at 6-foot-6, 205 pounds, Fisher is also considering the likes of West Virginia, Louisville, Vanderbilt, and a few other non-Power 5 schools.
In the weeks leading into Fisher’s decision date, Kentucky has continued to keep tabs on the local prospect. He still talks with associate head coach Vince Marrow and occasionally defensive coordinator Brad White, but the Wildcats likely aren’t the favorite heading into a final decision.

West Virginia appears to have the upper hand, but not much has come out about Fisher’s recruitment in the last couple of months. Fisher took visits to the likes of Kentucky, Louisville, Vanderbilt, and West Virginia since the year began. I logged a Recruiting Prediction Machine pick in favor of WVU landing Fisher back in June with a 35 percent confidence. I am sticking with that pick the morning of his decision, and I would even bump that confidence up to 50 percent.
Kentucky currently has 15 hard commits on board for the class of 2023. Five of them hail from in-state. The ‘Cats already have a talented EDGE rusher locked in with Boyle County three-star Tommy Ziesmer.
