Is Malik Monk the next Russell Westbrook?

(H/T 247 Sports)
It’s not new news that future Cat Malik Monk balled out at the Jordan Brand Classic this weekend, scoring 22 points and sharing the MVP trophy with future teammate De’Aaron Fox. What may be new news though, is The Sporting News’ Nick Birdsong comparing Malik Monk to all-star OKC guard Russell Westbrook.
“Malik Monk isn’t as good as Westbrook, (un)arguably the most athletic point guard to ever play the game of basketball, right now. But after just a glimpse of what [Monk] is capable of in the first half of the Jordan Brand Classic on Friday night, during which he dropped 15 points, he might be, “ Birdsong writes.

The article goes on to say that Monk even looks the part physically, wiry yet study, and angrily attacks the basket ala Westbrook.
The best part of the article though? Birdsong telling Razorback fans to get over Monk choosing BBN over them, because he doesn’t owe them anything.
Seriously, stop being so angry Arkansas, it doesn’t look good on you.
