Louisville (Ky.) Male rising junior Isaac “Spike” Sowells Jr. is one of the top targets on Kentucky’s 2025 recruiting board. The interior offensive line prospect has camped with the Wildcats and taken multiple unofficial visits. When the latest live recruiting period opened last week, offensive line coach Zach Yenser hit the road to visit Sowells.

Louisville also visited the three-star recruit last week, but this is not looking like a true in-state head-to-head recruiting battle yet.

Over the weekend, Sowells took an unofficial visit to West Virginia. This was his third trip to Morgantown. The line of scrimmage prospect has also received recent scholarship offers from Miami and Penn State. There is legitimate power conference competition for the class of 2025 recruit.

According to Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Sean Williams, Sowells has multiple junior day visits planned. The prospect will visit Kentucky on Feb. 3 but that will not be the only visit this winter. Sowells will also make stops at NC State (Jan. 20), Louisville (Jan. 23), and Miami (Jan. 27).

This recruitment is heating up.

Over the last two recruiting cycles, Kentucky has leaned heavily on the transfer portal to rebuild the offensive line room. That has helped the offense raise the floor. However, this program has to start landing and developing high school prospects on the offensive line. Isaac “Spike” Sowells is an important target for the Wildcats early in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

There is legitimate competition for the Louisville (Ky.) Male product.
