That’s right, four great years of Kentucky dominance over Louisville in the women’s game. A common theme for the Cats in this rivalry is coming back from the dead to stun the Cards, and Coach Walz said Kentucky wore his team down and his lack of depth showed. “In the second half we kinda just let them go by, it’s not too hard to make an uncontested layup, but it was for us,” said Walz.
It wouldn’t be a Jeff Walz press conference if he didn’t do a little jab at Coach Mitchell though, making sure to say “Matthew does a great job but I’m sure 2 years ago he would have traded a loss [to us] to play in the Final Four.”
