UK dropped game one against the Vol’s on Friday 6-3 after scoring 5 unearned runs in the first two innings behind three UK errors. The Cats, ranked No. 9, defeated the Vol’s in game two on Saturday 5-2 with an impressive performance from pitcher Lauren Cumbess. Cumbess threw four strong innings and hit her eighth homerun of the season in the series tying win. Today’s game against Tennessee at 2:00pm is the last home game for the Cats and a last farewell for senior players Lauren Cumbess, Ginny Carroll, Emily Jolly, Krystal Smith, Sarah Frazer and Emily Gaines. A ceremony to honor the six seniors will be held before the game and the whole team will sign autographs after the game. Admission into John Cropp Stadium is $5/ticket so come enjoy the weather and support the team in their last home game of the 2014 season.
