Izayah Cummings is Adding Blue to his Family's Wardrobe

Vince Marrow successfully infiltrated a family of Louisville Cardinals and brought a talented wide receiver to the Big Blue Nation.

Before Izayah Cummings signed with the University of Kentucky in December, Marrow asked his father, “You really gonna let me get your son?”

Andra Cummings, a UofL fans and 28-year employee of the school responded, “We just want what’s best for our son. We’re going to be blue now for the next four years.”

The family wore Kentucky blue when Izayah put pen to paper Dec. 18 at Male High School. Izayah admitted to WHAS-11 that it’s taken some time to completely transform their wardrobe.

“Mom, she has a lot more blue,” Izayah Cummings said. “And dad, I haven’t seen him wear a Kentucky shirt since signing day.”

Andra Cummings may not wear UK attire to work on UofL’s campus, but he’ll have it on from head to toe when Izayah takes the field for the Wildcats this fall. Marrow believes Cummings could be one of the few true freshmen to see action at Kroger Field right away.

“He’s a guy that can come in and play as a freshman,” Marrow said on signing day. “This kid — there’s just something about him.”

Marrow may not be able to put his finger on exactly what makes Cummings so special, but isn’t it obvious? There’s no greater gift than being able to convince a loved one to leave the Dark Side and join the Big Blue Nation.
