Jaland Lowe was throwing Ls down during Instagram Live with Denzel Aberdeen

The newest Wildcats are quickly learning what it means to be part of the Big Blue Nation.
Point guard Jaland Lowe, who transferred in from Pitt during the offseason, is already getting in on the heated rivalry against the in-state Louisville Cardinals. During an Instagram Live session over the weekend, where Denzel Aberdeen (a Florida transfer) later joined him to play Fortnite, Lowe threw up the double Ls down while appropriately rocking a Kentucky shirt.
Less than two weeks since arriving on campus, Kentucky’s PG1 is embracing the fanbase’s traditions.

But Lowe probably came to Kentucky with a slight hatred for Louisville already in the back of his mind. During his two seasons at Pitt, the Panthers faced UL four times — splitting the matchups 2-2 during ACC play. There’s likely some built-in animosity between the two sides, and we love to see it.
Lowe actually struggled scoring the ball a bit in the two games against Louisville as a freshman in 2023-24, both wins for Pitt. He combined to score 19 points (6-18 FG), 10 rebounds, and eight assists during those two showdowns with the Kenny Payne-led Cardinals. Louisville wasn’t exactly putting up much of a fight that season.
But that changed once Pat Kelsey took over at UL ahead of the 2024-25 season. Lowe, who went on to make the All-ACC Third Team, put on a show against Louisville in both games, although they ended in losses. He dropped 24 points and six assists in a four-point loss before going for 16 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in the rematch roughly two months later.
