Jaland Lowe watched Louisville lose -- and is in good spirits following shoulder injury

We have a Jaland Lowe sighting following his shoulder injury in Kentucky’s Blue-White Game — and he appears to be in good spirits. Maybe it’s because the star guard received good news this weekend? Or not bad news, at least?
Either way, it’s hard not to feel good watching your bitter rival go down, no matter the sport. That was the case when Lowe traveled down I-64W to watch his former school, Pittsburgh, take down Louisville in the top-10 volleyball matchup. Televised live on ESPN, the No. 6 Panthers went into L&N Federal Credit Union Arena and left with a 3-2 victory over the No. 4 Cardinals.
Lowe was sitting courtside for his old school’s victory and was “in good spirits,” according to a fellow Kentucky fan in the stands. We obviously can’t take too much from that part considering it’s a single out-of-context photo, but hey, it’s better than him looking miserable, right? In terms of the injury, there is no sling and he doesn’t appear to be wearing a heavy brace or anything visibly concerning.
Just a kid in a hoodie watching volleyball.
Really, this is just an excuse to re-share the Lowe health update from this morning, the Kentucky guard’s MRI reportedly coming back negative with a positive return timeline. He’s unlikely to participate in the Wildcats’ exhibition matchup vs. No. 1 Purdue on Friday, but beyond that, all bets are off.
“From what sources told me, the MRI on Lowe’s shoulder was negative,’ Larry Vaught of Vaught’s Views reported Sunday morning. “He had been fine since suffering a fall in June and apparently there’s a chance this could have been related to that fall about four months ago.”

“He was a little down after getting hurt and not knowing how severe the injury might be, but he was fine Saturday, knowing he will be getting back relatively soon,” the source told Vaught.
It aligns with what KSR’s Jacob Polacheck reported Saturday afternoon on KSBoard, saying that Lowe “will be fine” and that the starting point guard “should be ready soon.”
Mark Pope said after the Blue-White Game that he decided to sit Lowe ‘out of precaution’ and that they’d know more after additional testing.
“(Lowe) tweaked his shoulder, so we’ll see,” he said Friday. “We sat him down out of precaution.… We’ll see how it responds tomorrow. He’s an incredibly tough young man, so I’m sure whatever it is, he’ll battle it well.”
So far, so good.
